Playing in the always deep and competitive district four, the Meloneers must contend with the likes of Burlington, Swink and Las Animas just to reach regionals. Leading scorer Amber Lowther returns after hitting almost 74 percent of her shots and averaging 12 points a game as a sophomore. Defenses won’t be allowed to concentrate on just her as Rebecca Apodaca and Dara Dillon also return. They combined for just under ten points a game last season.
