Goals:
One of my top goals ever since I was young is to play college basketball. Its not only a goal of mine ,it’s a dream!
I always want to give and put out 100% of effort in anything I do and that will always remain a huge goal throughout my life. I strive to be the best person I can be both on and off the court. I want to graduate with a masters in teaching physical education and hopefully I plan on becoming a woman's basketball coach demonstrate life lessons throughout my career to my players. My priorities in life are God, Family and then sports. I hope to pass on the passion that I have over to the people I come into contact throughout my journey of life.
DISTRICT 3
Favorite: Kim
Contender: Springfield
Top players: Ariel Ambler, Kim, 5-7, Sr.; Lauren Esquivel, Baca County, 5-7, Jr.; Ashton Feemster, Kim, 6-0, Jr.; Shelby Goodrich, Kim, 5-7, Jr.; Sara Gunkel, Springfield, 5-9, Sr.; Danielle Lewis, Kim, 5-6, Jr.; Jaden Noe, Springfield, 5-10, Jr.; Ryleigh Jacobs, Springfield, 5-9, Sr.; Haley Sheldon, Kim, 6-0, Jr.
Outlook: Kim looks like a state championship contender, not only this year but for the next couple of seasons. It returns four starters, all juniors. Haley Sheldon has established herself as a top player in the post. Her 18 points and 10 rebounds a game last year helped the Mustangs to a 17-5 record. When Sheldon draws the defense's attention inside the Mustangs will be able to kick the ball outside to their shooting specialist, Danielle Lewis. Kim’s top rival, Springfield, will also be its closest competition for the district title. The Longhorns will have to replace two of their top players from a team that went 13-7 last season. Holly and Wiley are new to the district, after coming down from Class 2A, so they could compete in the district.
